Aelita winced, yah he was right he had hit his mark thats why it hurt so much, she realized. She glared at where he had been last, "You can't run forever." she growled and stormed out of the room slamming the door on her way out. She was fuming how dare he pull that one on her. If she wanted to be told who she liked and didn't like she would be taking counseling. She growled under her breath she was amazed that they tried to pull the like siblings on her. Like a stupid love sick girl she had believed it. Ugh how stupid could you get. She was pretty sure that she had reached the bottom of the list in that category. Geez when she had wanted to make sure Ace was ok, she had been so diligent until she'd gotten the whole story. She should have seen the red flags then. But she didn't. Her ears were twitching with ire.
She growled in frustration and punched a bookshelf on her way out into the avengers rec room. She heard a cracking sound of wood splitting. It was all she could do to try and hid the tears running down her face. They were tears of hurt and anger. She felt like going a round with just about anyone. In this kind of mood she would most likely win any fight. The tearstains that streamed down her face were almost bruise like thanks to her purple skin. Most people would just get pink cheeks but no she had to get bruises down her face. Great just great. She had more than just anger at Ace by now. She was also at the point of self loathing. She hated her looks. Who would think a person was sane if they had pointed ears and purple skin. She would but most people would start screaming about how there was an alien invasion.
Ace had been one of the only people who had actually trusted her since her mother had been killed. Aquas had been her only family for a long time and Ace had been on his way there. She'd thought she could trust him, she could see how wrong she was now. Relationships were bad all they did was bite you in the butt. The Jedi were right when they said feelings were a bad thing.
There was yet another reminder of her obscureness. Everyone idolized Yoda yet went screaming and running when she walked down the street. God why was she even alive, all she ever did was suffer. It wasn't fair why should she have to all of this when other girls her age were just normal. Their fathers weren't wanted in twenty different contries under seven different names. Their parents weren't dead and they hadn't seen things by the age of six most people didn't see in their lives.
She wanted to go to a normal school have normal friends, have a normal family life and a normal pet cat who wasn't always telling her to do her homework and sucking up to the teachers. She didn't want to have a father who was a mass murderer and have to live up to the last name Stones. She wanted a mother who was still alive who she could confide in and talk to. She wanted a best friend and teachers who couldn't kill her if they wanted. She wanted to go to a normal high school where the worst thing that could happen was being socially unexpected. She wanted to be normal.
She didn't want black hair, purple tinted skin and pointed ears. She didn't want to be able to walk through walls, or have super powers. She didn't want to pretend to be normal when she wasn't.
She turned and glared at the mirror that she had been looked into and punched it. Her eyes now had a distinctive red rim around the edges and a glassiness that you only see when someone has been crying. Her long black hair was a mess. It wasn't exactly a rat's nest but it it should have been brushed. Her ears were quivering in pain. She hated the girl in the glass. It was everything she wished she wasn't. She was so angry that she had punched right through the wall she hadn't even known that she had phased. But the mirror did something interesting anyway. Even though she didn't smash it herself a small piece had phased and gone through the wall with her fist and with that piece missing the rest of the mirror shattered but still held it's place in the frame. She glared at the mirror and kept on going through the room.
Aelita was so enraged that she wasn't paying attention to how drastically she was phasing. She looked at her hand and it was becoming insubstantial. Her anger quickly switched to fear. "No." she murmured. A scene flashed before her eyes. This had happened to her older brother, he had been sixteen at the time, Aelita had been two. He'd just disappeared into nothing. He had dissipated like a ghost and was screaming the whole time. It had been burned into her memory, even though she was only two she knew what had happened like it was yesterday. Her mother had lost it. She had lost it. Her father had laughed, all the time her brother had been screaming. It was odd she knew it was her brother without a doubt but she couldn't even remember his name anymore. That's what they'd been a family of phasers. With an evil father, and a love sick mother who was now not part of this world anymore. Her brother had held Aelita in his arms as he fadded away. The next time she had shed a tear she was watching her mother's murder. She now knew it wasn't painful do dissipate into nothing, she was doing it now. She could barely feel her hands anymore. It wasn't like she had phased and her hands didn't. She didn't have any control over her hands anymore. She didn't move a muscle so as to not lose her hands completely. She was hoping if she consintrated she would be able to keep her hands. She was scared stiff of loosing her body. She didn't know if she'd end up as one of the ghosts that haunted people and maybe have a conversation with Serina once in a while but that didn't appeal to her.
She wanted to be able to tease Aquas, punch her father. She wanted to do her damn homework. She didn't want this. She'd spent to much time surviving for this to happen. She'd know this was a likely end for a phaser. It happened to the best of them. If you lost control once there was no going back. She wanted to bug Alexa and hear Serina's crazy rants. She wanted to smile and laugh with Venus again. She wanted to be scolded by all her teachers for trying to punch away her problems. She wanted to make Arryana pay for all the things she still had to pay for. She wanted to see the look on Marina's face when she finally pissed her dad off enough to get a detention with him. She wanted to climb mount everest and do it without powers. She wanted to be a hero and save people like her family. She wanted to see Aquas grow up into an irritating white tiger. She wanted to be the one to fly the first jet that went back in time. She wanted to learn to fly a rocket ship. She wanted to tease Ace one more time... She didn't want to die...
She screamed.
