Alexa was sitting in the garden. It was during class, so nobody was with her. Some teachers were sick due to a strange virus, so Alexa had gotten out of class. Still, nobody was around. Even Saturn was away. He was tired of cafeteria food and hoping to find some rabbits in the mountain zone.
So there she sat.
Alexa needed this. She needed some time to think. She had previously gotten a phone call from her parents. Well, parent.
As of today.
So she escaped to the garden.... So nobody would see her...
The phone call that Alexa had recieved hadn't been a happy one. The relationship between her mother and her had always been a rocky one. When her mother and father, who hadn't been superheroes (neither had her grandparents or her great grandparents), found out that she had superpowers, they pulled her out of school. Her mom homeschooled her and got fired from her job, so her father had to support both of them. He worked in three states, so the job was very stressed out.
He drove himself crazy, and always fought with her mother over how he worked while he just took care of that. Of course, that was Alexa. They eventually divorced, and he refused to pay her alamony. He went to jail for disobeying the court, and has been in there ever since. As for her mom, she now worked as a janitor in a bowling alley and a clerk at a supermarket for thirteen hours a day, and was living in an apartment above a night school.
Alexa looked at her phone. She bit her lip. Her mother had sent her a text message about an hour ago. She opened the message and read it through clouded eyes.
Alexa,
I know that we haven't spoken for almost two years, but I'm not happy to do this either. I just fel that it was my duty to tell you that your father has committed suicide. He got medication for an ear infection, and took the entire bottle. He left no notes or anything, but he did leave a note for you. I should have told you earlier, but I didn't feel inclined to after you RUINED our lives. I hope you're well at that boarding school, because you're never coming back home. I will send the letter in the mail, along with the letter from the court.
I have emancipated you myself, you're welcome.
Please don't reply, and stop calling me.
Alexa was crying now. She screamed and threw her cell phone into the lake, and collapsed into a heap of tears.
